I feel like we should all have greater empathy for Jacob and the whole mistaking Leah for Rachel thing. Maybe they had a COVID pandemic and Laban said, “You know with all these people coming for the wedding – we should wear masks. Or better yet N95s and full face shields…tinted ones. Either that, or just wait until next year."  Last week, I saw a prisoner who had been witnessed lowering himself to the ground and then becoming “unresponsive”*. Amazingly, once he made it to the ED, he was able to ask for water and a blanket and we were able to say, “You may return to jail, sir.” *Do not try this with ER nurses – they have ways of making you responsive.   If you have lived down South, you know the phrase, "Just saying...", can be used in numerous ways. But most often, it concludes a somewhat snarky remark or it can be an add on to a truthful comment that the speaker is afraid will be taken the wrong way. Something to consider as I offer the following observation.
In these days where masks are required and have become a fashion statement, should you be able to get your hands on an N95 or other mask so equipped – the metal band goes over your nose…not under your chin. Just saying. It was absurd. He was driving and she towered behind him in this huge helmet. He looked like midget driving a clumsy 3-wheeled, $50,000 motorcycle. Proving that you have to be rich to look that ridiculous!  |
