 Working in the ED will make you goofy.
Seeing three people in the same shift with various broken appendages due to ladders – and you begin to wonder if you should get rid of all of yours… And after caring for a litany of individuals who injured themselves doing dishes – you consider switching to all paper or plastic. But sewing up multiple people (in the same day!) who cut themselves after a metal broom handle broke while sweeping will make you seriously weigh whether you should rush out and buy a metal handled broom. (Because the odds of having a safe broom encounter have to be in your favor!) Dear Father,
I know I asked for courage but can You take it back? It’s getting pretty dangerous out here -- people are starting to look. And while You are at it, the growth thing I wanted is really stretching me, it kinda hurts, and well, I don't like it. Oh, and -- could I get a little less help being humble? It’s wounding my pride. But I do thank you, God, for teaching me patience. And now that You have, do You think You could hurry it up a little? Amen. |
