10 Thoughts on Prayer

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?... He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol... – Psalm 24:3-4

1. Prayer is always appropriate (Eph. 6:18).
2. Approach humbly (James 4:6).
3. Tell God the truth – always.  It’s not like you can hide it from Him anyway (John 2:25).

1. Speak wisely (Eccl. 5:2).

1. Prayer works because of God, not because of me or my words (Rom. 8:26-27).
2. Come consistently (Luke 18:1-8).
3. As you pray, so you believe (Luke 6:45).
4. Ask simply (Matt. 7:11).
5. You are allowed to ask for the miraculous -- impossible does not exist to God (Jer. 32:27).
6. Remember (and record) God’s faithfulness to encourage yourself and others (Ps. 40:10).
