"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy." -- James 3:17
This is God's wisdom. It is based on the fear of God. It is not founded in facts or figuring, not in experience or in education. James' description of wisdom is the reflection of Christ in our lives as we submit our thinking to His authority and mimic His priorities and perspectives. So it is self-defeating to use worldly knowledge, experience, or understanding as the way to gain godly wisdom. Instead, if we want wisdom, we pursue God (James 1:7) and allow Him (not us) to choose and use the tools He desires in our lives to produce a meek, selfless, sincere wisdom. Comments are closed.
